Thunderhead systems offer unparalleled duration and continuous payload operation for a field-launched platform.
Months of coverage are achievable, leveraging individual platforms or constellations of systems, depending on regional or seasonal
considerations.
Thunderhead also provides solar power regeneration and an effective payload recovery system.
Persistent stratospheric platforms provide cost effective sensor coverage or communications capabilities, complementing satellites and airborne assets, or re-constituting capabilities which have been degraded or destroyed.
LIGHTNING BALLOON FAMILY
The Lightning flight system provides an ideal support platform for shorter-duration tactical missions.
A two-man tactical team can easily transport Lightning systems, along with required ground support equipment, via a small vehicle or boat, for field deployment and launch.
After launch, the system can be monitored or controlled through the Thunderstorm ground system via either line of sight or satellite channels as appropriate
